The Crop tool enables you to select a region of an image and discard everything outside this area. The tool can be found third from the top in the Photoshop Toolbox, within the left side.
Although cropping reduces the dimensions of an image, it is not equivalent to resizing. Whereas resizing reduces or enlarges the complete image and everything in it, cropping doesn’t alterthe dimensions of the image content at all.
Using the Crop Tool
Choose the crop tool within the toolbox.
Select an region of the picture to retain (likewise as creating a normal selection).
Once you release the mouse button, the region being retained is highlighted. It’s this that the new image will look like.
You are able to move or transform the crop area by dragging the selection and the selection handles.
Hit your Enter key to perform the crop.
You are able to combine cropping and resizing within the same operation, with the options within the options bar.
Rather thanmaking use of the crop tool, you can utilize the marquee tool to create a selection, then choose Image > Crop in the Photoshop menu.
